Do the names actually match D&D's official races?

They're inspired by the naming conventions common across D&D, Pathfinder, and fantasy fiction generally (elvish, dwarvish, orcish, etc.) rather than pulled from any single publisher's official name lists, so they work across systems and homebrew settings alike.

Can I get a surname without a first name, or vice versa?

Untick "Include surname / clan name" for a given name only, or generate a batch and mix and match what you like — there's no requirement to use a name exactly as generated.

What does the epithet option add?

A title appended after the name, like "the Ironhearted" or "the Stormcaller" — useful for legendary NPCs, villains, or dragons that deserve a bit more gravitas than a plain name.

Are dragon names different from the other races?

Yes, dragon names use their own harsher, more draconic syllable set and epithet-style surnames (like "the Ashwing") rather than clan names, matching how dragons are usually named in fantasy fiction.

Will I get duplicate names if I generate a big batch?

It's possible but uncommon — with thousands of possible syllable combinations per race, repeats are rare in a batch of 10. Just hit generate again for a fresh set.
