About this tool

More than a static times table chart

Most 'multiplication table' pages online are just a fixed 1-12 chart you can look at but not change. This one is a generator: pick any row range and any column range — a single number's table like 7×1 through 7×12, an unusual range like 13-20 for advanced practice, or a wide grid for a classroom reference poster — and it builds instantly. On top of that, it can highlight every multiple of a chosen number (handy for spotting patterns) and switch into quiz mode, which hides every answer behind a '?' until a student clicks the cell to reveal it.

How to use it

  • Set the row range and column range — leave both at 1-12 for the classic chart, or customize either side.
  • Optionally highlight every multiple of a number, useful for teaching skip-counting or spotting factor patterns.
  • Turn on quiz mode to hide every product behind a clickable '?' for self-testing, or use 'Reveal All' to check every answer at once.
  • Click 'Print / Save as PDF' to get a clean, ink-friendly printout — your browser's print dialog lets you save it as a PDF or send it straight to a printer.

Who this is for

Teachers building a quick worksheet or classroom reference chart, parents helping with times-table homework and wanting a self-check quiz, and students who just want a fast lookup instead of counting on their fingers. The custom range also covers use cases beyond school — anyone who wants a quick reference grid for a specific set of numbers.

Common questions

What's the best range to start learning times tables?

Most curricula start with 1-10 or 1-12. This tool defaults to 1-12 (the traditional 'full' times table range including the extra 11 and 12 facts) but you can shrink it down to just the number your child is currently practicing.

Can I print this as a worksheet?

Yes — the 'Print / Save as PDF' button opens your browser's print dialog with a clean layout (no site header, footer, or buttons), and most browsers let you choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination instead of a physical printer.

How does quiz mode work?

Every cell shows a '?' instead of the product. Click a cell to reveal just that answer, or use 'Reveal All' to show everything at once when you're done checking your work.

What does the highlight option do?

Enter a number and every product in the table that's a multiple of it gets shaded — a quick visual way to see, for example, every multiple of 5 across a full 1-12 grid.

Can I generate a table for just one number, like the 7 times table?

Yes — set both the row start and row end to 7, and pick whatever column range you want (e.g. 1 to 12) to get just the 7 times table on its own.
